Paper Boutique

In August 2023 the concept store Papír Plojhar opened on Jindřišská Street in Prague, bringing a fresh and unexpected approach to stationery. The project celebrates the beauty of paper, not only through the products on display but through the very way they are exhibited.

Project note / 01

The design draws directly from paper itself, and particularly from the structure of cardboard. Rounded forms throughout the interior echo the wavy lines revealed when cardboard is cut, creating a tactile language unique to the store.

Much of the furniture was crafted in-house at Papír Plojhar's own headquarters, cut and assembled from cardboard into seating, displays and the central workshop table. That let us combine five generations of family tradition with unconventional contemporary design.

Project note / 02

Neutral brown and beige tones define the space, complemented by cream and subtle green accents that hint at the natural cycle of paper from tree to product. The polyurethane floor carries hand-painted wavy lines, and an ambient light installation by the design duo Lappa, made from Tyvek, reflects the lightness of paper itself.

The central cardboard table now serves as a hub for workshops and creative sessions. Together, the interior turns stationery shopping into a sensory experience of exploration, craft and sustainability.
